Port Marine Safety Code - The Role of The MCA

The MCA are now responsible for monitoring compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC). They will be initiating measures to either "be assured of compliance" or "to ensure compliance". Reluctant Ports will be encouraged to comply. The MCA will also be active in "incident follow-up".

Marine Enforcement can assist with all compliance issues. We can swiftly and cost effectively provide a PMSC Healthcheck, make practical recommendations to ensure all aspects of the PMSC are complied with and provide training to Board members and staff.

The PMSC imposes a national standard. Compliance provides a badge of approval and significantly reduces the chances of uncomfortable scrutiny.
